Overview
100km south of Hanoi, the magical Ninh Binh, located in northern Vietnam, is also known as the “Ha Long Bay on Land” for an obvious reason – it looks like Ha Long Bay but on land instead of water
The stunning landscapes here in Ninh Binh with mountains, rivers, caves, rice fields, and pagodas are right out of a movie set (no wonder the latest King Kong movie was filmed here). It was a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, that’s for sure.
With our exclusive tour, you are offered to visit the ancient Dinh King temple in the Hoa Lu ancient Citadel where the peaceful panoramic blue lake view is enjoyed and then to discover Am Tien Cave at Tuyet Tinh Coc Cave (Tiger Cave). There are so many caves formed naturally or artificially inside the Limestone Mountains and this made Ninh Binh a worth-the-visit place.
Our sampan boat rides on Ngo Dong River starting from Pier Van Lam shall take you through caves, rice fields and past the ever so unique karst rocks while breathing in the fresh air. What’s also interesting here in Ninh Binh is that the peddlers have learned to peddle with their feet to avoid getting injured. Yes, these incredible skillful ladies use their feet to peddle because some of these caves here are so small and you shall have to duck your heads.
After the visit to the ancient Bich Dong Pagoda, built right into a cave with three storeys, you shall enjoy cycling around and seeing the landscapes from different perspectives.
Even though the big cities in Vietnam are cool, the relaxing spots like this are where the real charm is, we reckon!
Ninh Binh must be a sight not to be missed. It is a sight for sore eyes.
